After a brief smattering of live appearances last year, 2013 saw the release of the first Black Sabbath to feature Ozzy Osbourne on vocals in 35 years in the form of 13. And it was a belter. The album went number one in more than eight countries, including the USA and the UK, an impressive feat for a metal band. No tracks stand out on a par with ‘Paranoid’ or ‘Children of the Grave’, but as a whole, an entirety deserving of a name Black Sabbath. Every track packs a hard and heavy punch that no other band manages to match. A welcome return by the fathers of heavy metal.
