AMiR has always had a burning passion for music. Since a young age, music has been the only path for the gifted performer. Starting with the drums, he soon found music an addiction taking on the guitar and piano. His hard-work and undeniable talent have begun to bear fruit, leading to opportunities working with Grammy-winning producers worldwide, including Peter and Daniel (Matoma, Galantis, DFA) and Patrick Patrikios (Little Mix). Since starting out as a solo artist, his singles All Or Nothing and Drench Me With Your Lust were instant favourites with Kiss FM, BBC Asian Network, the latter regularly supporting and shortlisting him as an artist to watch. Soon after, came support from Jo Wiley on BBC Radio 2 and Craig Charles on 6Music.

Now gearing up to the release of his debut album “All Or Nothing” we spoke to the London songwriter while on tour about what the future holds, and the importance of live music.

You’re currently on tour. How’s that been so far?
I live for touring! It’s been amazing. Everyone on this tour has been everything I wanted! Long may that continue :)

You’ve just shared your first single of 2019 ‘Stolen’ – Is this the kind of thing we can expect from the album?
yeh definitely! If you like what stolen sounds like, you will like the rest of the album. I’m not one to stick to a certain sound or subject but this album has what you want if you’re feeling stolen :)

How would you say your sound has evolved over the years?
my sound has been what I’ve wanted depending on who I work with hence why, in England, I work with the same guys. They have become close friends of mine so I feel lyrically, it’s fine to write what I feel

What made you decide to release an album, in an age where everyone seems to be sticking to short format releases?
I was brought up in the LAST generation of albums. To make an album is a primal experience compared to just writing songs. It’s a body rather than a feature. That was important to me

If you could change one thing about the 2019 music industry what would it be?
I don’t know to be honest. It’s been a tough ride getting here but I don’t know If I Would change it

When can we expect the album?
the album is a diary that I’m sharing with everyone. I felt like this and I feel like this but I’m going to get there on the end. That’s essentially the theme.
