Hailing from Lancaster, Pennsylvania the sextet ‘From Ashes to New’ have just reached the release of their debut album ‘Day One’, out February 26th 2016.
From Ashes to New formed barely two years ago and this debut album has been in the works ever since the self-titled EP was finished back in 2013. “’Downfall’ and ‘Day One’ are not too far off from the first self-titled EP,” vocalist Chris Musser explains, for those fans who are already aware of the twisting verses, relentless rap and alternative metal concoction that the band has to offer.
Despite having only just pushed out a full length release, the six piece have supported metal royalty in ‘Five Finger Death Punch’ and ‘Papa Roach’. Musser admits that watching them every night rubbed off on them and conceded that not only is supporting such high calibre bands hard to think of for such a new band but, “everything we have done so far and accomplished without even having a full length album out there feels serial!”
Like any band in the early stages of their career, this Lancaster bands dreams are fuelled by dead end jobs, which inspires some of the lyrics on the album, Matt Brandyberry (vocals/guitar/keys/programming) explains that “there is a lot of ‘fuck you’ on this album.”
Coming from Pennsylvania has been a hindrance to the bandmates in past projects, but with ‘From Ashes To New’ Musser explains that the six piece have gotten lucky, “our music caught on and people just ran with it.” With the help of the fans and social media, the band have gotten where they are today.
Already having a dedicated fan base under their belts and support slots with some of metal’s best, the future is bright for the sextet. Musser says that the band have “a lot of exciting plans for this upcoming year” without giving too much away. Following the release of the album, be sure to keep a look out for some major announcements.
The debut album ‘Day One‘ is available now via Better Noise Records/Eleven Seven Music.
