To accompany the introspective and melancholic track Taxi Man, alt-R&B femme fatale Brika shares the visual element of her return to the fore. After some time away from the limelight, she puts you under her sultrily melancholic spell once again and for four minutes you’re completely entranced and by the end you’re craving to hit the replay button.
Alt-R&B seems second nature to Brika, narrating an intimate story on the complexities of modern love over a slowly burning, laidback instrumental. Tune in below.
“Taxi Man was inspired by an actual cab ride I took in Miami after a night out in Brickell with my friends. I was unexpectedly given unsolicited advice from a very wise old Bahamian man. His message really impacted me in a way that brought out dormant emotions of my past. I originally recorded him talking to keep for snapchat… But ended up using the actual recording in the song.” – Brika
