Having only announced a new area Carnivale recently, the Bestival team are back again to announce another exciting addition to the grounds again.  The Commune— is a special one off area exclusive to the festival for the year designed by Josie Da Bank and programmed by Bobby Lost. The team envision for the area to be a ‘bedrock of soul’ complementing their ‘summer of love’ theme.  The area aims to create a hybrid of new age thought and established ancient philosophy. Lost, describes the area to be where you are able to be yourself and step out of your comfort zone whilst connecting with others and sharing deep experiences. The area will be home to sober morning raves, inspiring talks from revolutionaries on a variety of topic such as consciousness and politics and even an array of dance, yoga and singing workshops. The Commune will also feature an interesting take on speed dating with their ‘Silent’ speed dating—speed dating without the words. At night the area will feature top DJ’s such as WeAreOne, Morning Gloryville and Battersea Conscious Club amongst many more. There will also be UV underwear parties featuring body doodling under blacklight where your body becomes the canvass for the art. If that is not enough, there will also be a stunning ‘Flower of Fire’ pyro structure standing at 15.5 meters tall with installed in the centre of the Magic meadow all weekend long—definitely a sight to see. For more information on the area head over to Bestival’s website and if you still have not purchased a ticket, they are still available online with the option of a weekly payment plan here.
